Hello Sailors,
First off i would like to announce two new members of the PSU Sailing
Team. This morning at 8 am, our two brand new sailboats arrived from
Rhode Island by semi truck. you can see a picture of one here:
http://flickr.com/photos/tommiron/2653607910/Thanks to John, Julia, and Chris for helping out so early in the
morning. It was a beautiful morning out on the river and we got a few
hours of sailing in after working hard to unload the boats from the
truck.
Next i would like to thanks Josh, Master Designer, Engineer, and
Builder of our new dock box. I would also like to thank, John,
Adam-1, and Adam-2, for giving up some time on their weekends to help
with construction. Sorry i don't have any pictures, but if you head
down to WSC, you can't miss it. The Box is 16 feet long and about 4
feet high. the construction is 95% done, which means that it is time
to start painting. This is a great way to get in those mandatory 10
work hours for this term. We will be painting Sunday at 2 p.m.
Please bring sunscreen, I got burnt last weekend, and cold beverages.
The forecast is for low 80's so it should be a nice day. Email me (tmiron@gmail.com
) or call (925-787-2966) if you are planning on coming so that i can
make sure to pick up enough brushes.
I'm not sure if everyone is aware, but we have a Facebook group for
the PSU Sailing Team. if you're on facebook already i defiantly
recommend checking it out. this is a great recruiting tool, so post
any picture and videos and invite your friends to join the group as
well.
It's summer time, and that means sun and wind so let's take full
advantage of it. who is interested in a weekend camping trip to the
gorge? we could trailer up a few sailboats and camp out in tents. I
would love to do this and several people have expressed interest,
however I'm completely swapped with work and school, so if someone
wants to volunteer to head this up that would be awesome. there
wouldn't be that much involved, just lining up a weekend and a place
to camp, as well as finding someone with a car that has a tow hitch.
Finally, there will be practice this Friday, the 11th at 3:00 p.m.
Sorry for the long email and i hope to see you all on the water soon.
Feel free to contact me with any question
