PSU sailing: Orcas Island Trip

To everyone going to Orcas Island this weekend:

There has been a last minute change for the housing situation, instead of paying $10 we will now have to pay $25 each for lodging and food. I know this is a major inconvenience, you can thank camp moran for giving WWU a bogus estimate on the camping fees. Campus rec will try to reimburse us however, since this is sort of an emergency situation. So I'm sorry for the inconvienence, but hopefully we can get reimbursed through the club's budget. And if not, $25 is still an amazing deal for two nights on Orcas Island.

See you all tomorrow, remember to meet at 1pm by the Stott center.

Hey All,

I just got an update about Mixforf, for all those planning to go wetsuits are required on the water. In the past WWU has provided wetsuits for this regatta, but you need to bring one with you because there's no guarntee WWU will have extra suits this time, and you won't be able to sail without one. Our club owns a few shorty wetsuits, and I'm sure we have enough for everyone who's going this weekend. However, if you'd like to get your own wetsuit there are several places around town that have good deals. Two in particular are:

Gorge Performance,
http://www.gorgeperformance.com/
7400 SW Macadam
Portland, OR 97219

Andy and Bax
http://www.andyandbax.com/
324 S.E Grand Avenue
Portland, Oregon 97214
503-234-7538

Gorge Performance is really close to WSC, I bought a used wetsuit there several years ago it has worked very well for sailing. Andy and Bax has military surplus and whitewater rafting/kayaking gear that works great for what we do, and is usually a lot cheaper than sailing brands. Also it wouldn't hurt to check George's shop, West Coast Sailing, http://www.westcoastsailing.net/  They specialize in high-end sailing brands, but for the prices they offer it is defniately worth it for top quality gear.

Let me know if you have any questions, see you all at practice.
