PSU sailing: We've always wanted to take you sailing

Greetings, friends

If you've wanted to come check out PSU sailing but haven't had the
time to get around to practices, you're in luck because next Monday,
January 31st, we will be setting up shop in the second floor of Smith
to answer questions, talk about the wonderful places we'll be
traveling to, share cookies, and chat about the amazing sport of
sailing!

Whether you were a champion high-school sailor or have never even been
on a boat before, come on by the student lounge (SMSU, 2nd floor)
anytime between 12-3 to meet the current team and find out how you can
become a part of this awesome club.

Also, to all of our current team members and those who have ever
braved the elements and made it down to practice, you should drop by
and say hi as well! Make sure to wear all of your cool promotional PSU
garb if you've got any.

If you can't make it to this little get-together, we practice every
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3 pm until 6 pm (or whenever it gets
dark) at the Willamette Sailing Club:

6336 SW Beaver Ave, right here in Portland

Looking forward to seeing you all soon,

PSU sailing: 2011 Winter Alumni Regatta

Hey Sailors -
Time is closing in on the big race! Let's collectively bow our heads for a moment
and pray for wind....

Ok, I think the Willamette Gods heard us.
Well, it looks like we are going to have an awesome turnout! Sailors from all over the Northwest,
and from other districts as well. We also have some current college and high school sailors, as well
as some non-affiliated wild cards!

I also have to give a shout-out to Steve Weir from the Small Yacht Sailing Club of Oregon (SYSCO) for
volunteering to be our race committee. He stepped in so that we could have maximum alumni on the water
for the event!

Here is a partial list of those attending to show known skipper/crew combinations, as well as those with no
sailing partner. If I have gotten any of this information down wrong, or have left anyone out please
let me know.

Combo-ed boats:
Jeffrey Hickman and Sydney Boyce (OSU)
Brian Hickman and Carl Fixsen (OSU)
Jeff Causey and Caitlin Coleman-Hulbert (PSU Alum)
Mike Stephenson and Claire Leake (Wisconsin Alum)
Tony and Shelly Norris
Tom Miron and Nick Stockton (PSU)

Unaccompanied Sailors:
Dave Sexton (PSU)
Sky Cunningham (PSU)
Russell Burke (OSU)
Joby Easton
Mike Rees
Julia Purcell

This list is by no means comprehensive, since there are a lot of people on the facebook event that haven't
been added to it yet. I will compile the two lists together soon and have a comprehensive attendance sheet
up by Wednesday night.

Again, let me know if I got any of this info wrong, or if I left anyone out. If you assume you are
coming because you told me so, but you are not on this list, please reconfirm with me! My memory
is by no means infallible. Also, if I have you down as unaccompanied and you have a skipper or crew, please
let me know!

Finally, If you are thinking about attending but haven't made the choice, please make the right decision
(that is, to go sailing!) and contact me no later than Wednesday!

Cheers,
Nick Stockton
