PSU sailing: Jeff Mixdorf Memorial Regatta and other news.

Good morning team,
As most of you know, we just returned from Lake Whatcom and the Jeff
Mixdorf Memorial Regatta hosted by Western Washington University. The
conditions were challenging to say the least with light shifty winds and
unfamiliar boats. For future races I think that WWU should sell some of
that gorgeous lake front property to finance a wind machine. But what do I
know about real estate? You can view the results at ICSA website:

http://www.collegesailing.org/nwicsa.

We all hoped to place better but in
the end our inexperience won out. Fortunately we have conducted an
extensive autopsy and everyone is pretty clear where to focus. In the end
it was still a lot of fun and I cant think of anyone else with whom I would
rather spend 11 hours in a cramped van.
I would like to give a special thanks to Western Washington University
for hosting the race, Kyle Eaton and rest of the race committee for keeping
us honest and on course and of course Randy, Catherine and Nancy for
generously putting us up for the weekend.
As mentioned earlier Stevi, Justin, Adam, Tom and I will be heading to
Galveston to finally get some ocean sailing and Texas BBQ. We will be
leaving early Friday afternoon so practice will not be held. Practice will
resume on Monday the 11th at 1500.
Keep looking at the website for updates and news for upcoming races and
team meetings.
See you on the water.
-Josh
