PSU sailing: Sailing Team Practice

Hey Sailors,
This is a reminder that this quarters first practice will be today at
3 pm at Willamette Sailing club (6336 sw beaver ave). Please bring
warm gear and a change of clothes. Also i would like people to bring
their calendars and sign up for the regattas they would like to go

If you are new to the club or interested in checking us out for the
first time you are more then welcome to come down. Once you get to
the club ask around for PSU sailing if you don't see us. if you cant

PSU sailing: Upcoming Regattas

Hey PSU Sailing,

Just a reminder that the deadline to sign up for Mixdorf is fast approaching, and so far nobody has emailed me saying they want to go. I need to turn in the travel forms this monday, so if you'd like to go then email me asap. Mixdorf is in Bellingham, WA and the regatta is sailed in Alphas, a dinghy unique to Western Washington University. Alphas are fun to sail and Mixdorf is always a good regatta, but it will be cold so be sure to bring winter sailing gear. If you have any questions about gear feel free to contact me or Tom, we're happy to help and we don't want anybody freezing their butt off.

I would also appreciate if you could let me know soon if you're planning on attending the NW Clinic in Seattle on February 14-15, the JV Scrimmage in Portland on March 7-8, or Western Canada Cup in Victoria March 14-15. The deadline for the NW Clinic is coming up, and Canada Cup will need to be arranged early since it's across the border. Get your passport now if you don't have one already, you will need it go get back into the US.

PSU sailing: Recap from meeting yesterday

Hey all,
Here is what we talked about yesterday at the meeting.
1. Practice time will be Wednesday and Fridays at 3:00 pm starting
Wednesday the 28th

2.if you need to update your roster info (emergency contact, phone,
email) please email Adam at ajwhitex@gmail.com

3. Please look over the racing schedule at nwicsa.com and email Adam
what race you would like to go to. Sign up must take place 2 weeks
before a regatta and people dropping out within 2 weeks of a regatta
will be penalized.

4.dues are $50 and can be paid to Adam via cash, check, or charged to
your student accout

5. New leadership. As Adam will be graduating at the end of the term,
I feel we need to nominate a new commodore now to learn from him
before he leaves. Sky Cunningham was nominated. However objections
were raised since he will be graduating at the end of spring term.
Since objections were raised a vote must be taken were ALL people on
our roster must be present. I prospose that we do this on Friday the
30th at practice. Will everyone be able to make it?

6. Fundraising/ donation- we need to raise money! I need everyone to
email julia 10 named and address. We will be sending out a letter
asking for donations. Please only appropriate names and adresses.

PSU sailing: Meeting next wednesday 1/14

Hey Sailors,
sorry for the confusion. the meeting will be next wednesday 1/14.
Since only a few people have rsvped yes, i was considering moving the
meeting time to 4:00 pm instead of 6pm. does this work better for
people? please let me know as soon as possible. This meeting will be
to go over the next terms race schedule, practice schedule, update the
roster, collect dues, sign waivers, discuss future leadership and
fundraising/volunteer activities. I will have a scribe taking notes
at the meeting for those of you who can't make it. however anything
that we vote on you will not have a say in. also we need people to
volunteer at the recruiting table for party near the park next
thursday fro 11 am to 2 pm. if you can only make it for a little bit
thats fine, we will have a sign up sheet at the meeting on wednesday.
finally, below is the regatta schedule for the rest of the year. i
would like to start a tentative sign up sheet for regatta so that we
know how many cars to rent and how much to budget for each regatta.
please come to the meeting with a list of regattas you'd like to attend.

PSU sailing: Winter Term Kick off Party

Hey Sailors,
As we're getting ready to kick off the spring sailing term we have a
bunch of stuff to go over as a team. I'd like to have a team meeting/
party next wednesday at 6 pm. We will be having the meeting at the
Sailing House (3334 SW Water Ave). We can go over all the business
stuff first and then watch a sweet sailing movie after. Dues for this
term are due soon. You can bring cash, a check, or fill out a form at
the meeting wednesday. Dues are $50 for the term. This meeting is
mandatory in order to be on the team for the winter term. Please
bring drinks to share and your smiles.
