PSU sailing: Practicing, info and work hours
Hi All!
We've now entered the busy time of the season, from here until mid-May there is a ton of stuff going on, including 3 district championships and our district's intersectional. Numbers in practice have been a little down since spring break and I'd like to send encouragement to come out to practice, now is the time the team needs you more than ever, if we can get all of our boats out in every practice it will be a huge help.
I'm assembling a "Playbook" not only for this season but to exist going forward. If you have ideas or things you've learned and want to share see me at practice and I'll give you the google docs info, it exists in draft form now and needs your input. The hope is to get some input from everyone on the team about anything they've learned about sailing, strategies, tricks, training, anything you want to make available to your current teammates AND future generations of PSU sailors.
Also, as a team PSU needs to fill a total of 20 work hours at the club in a calendar year. So far this year PSU has filled 6 hours, thanks to Jac and Kristine for helping with a class we had here a few weeks ago. There's 14 more to go and it would be great to take a chunk out of that before the end of the 2010-2011 school year. We have carpet to replace on the 420 dock, and can work on FJ cradles as well at the same time. Much of the old carpet we're removing can be donated to PSU to help with moorage spaces if need be. We can talk more about this at practice and I'll forward any scheduled work times/dates to this list.
Steve
